Molte persone parlano delle cose che pensano di amare. Un ragazzino potrebbe dire di amare il suo nuovo videogioco. Una bambina potrebbe dire di amare la sua nuova casa delle bambole. Un uomo adulto potrebbe dire che ama la sua macchina o una donna adulta potrebbe dire che ama la sua nuova pettinatura. Ma tutto questo è davvero amore? Una persona può davvero amare le cose?

Prendiamoci un momento per pensare all'amore…. Che cos'è l'amore? … Come possiamo mostrare amore? … (Fare una pausa qui per consentire ad alcuni bambini di condividere le proprie idee.)

Amore significa prendersi cura di un'altra persona tanto quanto ci si prende cura di se stessi. Amore significa trattare un'altra persona nel modo in cui vuoi essere trattato. Mostriamo il nostro amore attraverso le nostre azioni. Se non vuoi essere ferito, pizzicato, preso a calci, preso in giro o essere vittima di bullismo, allora non dovresti mai fare quelle cose a qualcun altro. D'altra parte, se desideri essere trattato gentilmente, dovresti essere gentile con gli altri.

La Bibbia, in 1 Corinzi 13, ci dice come possiamo mostrare il nostro amore:

Attraverso l'essere paziente. Questo significa aspettare a lungo senza piagnucolare o lamentarsi.

Essere gentile, anche quando qualcuno non è gentile con te.

Non essendo invidioso. Ciò significa essere felici quando accadono cose belle a qualcun altro e non essere arrabbiati perché non sono successe a te.

Comportandosi bene.

Condividendo e non essendo egoisti.

Rimanendo calmi e non essendo pronti ad arrabbiarsi.

Dicendo la verità.

La Bibbia ci dice anche che:

L'amore non finisce mai. L'amore dura per sempre.

Ora diamo un'altra occhiata alle cose che le persone pensano di amare. Il ragazzino alla fine si annoierà a giocare sempre allo stesso videogioco. Verrà lasciato su uno scaffale e dimenticato. È davvero amore?

La bambina crescerà, troverà nuovi interessi e smetterà di giocare con la casa delle bambole. È davvero amore?

Anche gli adulti non sempre sanno cos'è l'amore. L'auto un giorno si guasterà e l'uomo dovrà rottamarla e prenderne una nuova. I capelli della donna cresceranno; non le piaceranno e vorrà una nuova acconciatura. Tutte queste cose sono con noi solo per un po'. Non possiamo e non dobbiamo amare le cose, perché finiscono e poi finirebbe l'amore per loro. Ma il vero amore non finisce mai. Dovremmo amare le persone e dovremmo amare Dio in modo che il nostro amore duri per sempre.

Un giorno, Gesù ei suoi amici stavano camminando lungo la bellissima costa della Giudea. Mentre camminavano, parlavano e discutevano delle notizie del giorno, altre persone videro Gesù e vollero sentire cosa stesse dicendo. Presto ci fu una folla molto numerosa di persone che seguivano Gesù. Alcuni di loro erano malati, Gesù li toccò e li guarì. Altri avevano domande che volevano porre e ascoltavano attentamente mentre Gesù rispondeva loro.

C'era un gruppo di persone chiamate “farisei,” che erano i capi nel tempio. A loro piaceva avere lunghe discussioni e soprattutto si divertivano ad argomentare e cercare di confondersi a vicenda. Quando i farisei sentirono che Gesù era vicino, lasciarono ciò che stavano facendo e si precipitarono a unirsi alla folla. Si divertivano a fare domande e a cercare di ingannare Gesù ma, ovviamente, Gesù sapeva cosa stavano cercando di fare e ogni volta dava loro risposte perfette. Non potevano ingannare Gesù!

Mentre i farisei discutevano con Lui, si unirono alla folla alcune madri. Sapevano che Gesù era un uomo molto importante e volevano che i loro figli avessero la possibilità di vederlo. Tenendo le mani dei loro figli, si fecero strada tra la folla, cercando di avvicinarsi.

Quando gli amici di Gesù videro le madri e i bambini che cercavano di arrivare davanti per vedere Gesù, si accigliarono e parlarono loro in modo rude. “Andate via! Non sapete che Gesù è un uomo importante? Non vedete che è impegnato a parlare con i capi del tempio? Prendete i vostri figli e andatevene a casa!” Tristi e abbattute, le madri si voltarono per tornare con i loro figli dalla via dove erano venute e lontano dalla folla.

Tuttavia, Gesù amava molto i bambini e aveva un'idea diversa della situazione. Si rivolse ai suoi amici e disse gentilmente, “No, non mandateli via. Lasciate che i bambini vengano da me.” Gli amici di Gesù si affrettarono a farsi strada tra la folla perché le mamme e i bambini potessero avvicinarsi a Gesù. Le madri erano piene di gioia ed eccitazione mentre Gesù tendeva le braccia verso i loro figl!

Uno per uno, prese i bambini più piccoli tra le sue braccia amorevoli, li tenne stretti e disse una speciale preghiera di benedizione. Dette a ciascuno dei bambini più grandi un tenero abbraccio e pregò per una benedizione anche per loro. Parlò dolcemente alle madri e rivolse loro un sorriso di approvazione. Dopo che ciascuno ebbe visto Gesù e ne fu benedetto, Lui parlò ai suoi amici, ai farisei e al resto della folla, dicendo, “Chi non accoglie il regno di Dio come lo fa un bambino, non potrà entrarvi.” Stava cercando di aiutarli tutti a capire che amare Dio è abbastanza facile da accettare per un bambino, e tutte le loro lunghe discussioni e argomentazioni erano inutili.

RIFLETTI!

1. Quale frutto dello Spirito hai conosciuto in questa storia?
2. Cos'è l'amore?
3. Possiamo davvero amare le cose?
4. Secondo 1 Corinzi 13, quali sono alcuni modi in cui puoi mostrare amore agli altri?
5. Chi erano i farisei?
6. Cosa fece Gesù quando i suoi amici volevano mandare via i bambini?

RICORDA:

Gesù ti ama e l'amore dura per sempre.

UN VERSETTO DA IMPARARE

“Il frutto dello Spirito invece è amore, gioia, pace,
pazienza, benevolenza, bontà, fedeltà, mansuetudine,
autocontrollo; contro queste cose non c'è legge”
(Galati 5:22-23).

DELLE ALTERNATIVE AL VERSETTO DA IMPARARE

“La carità è lenta all'ira, è benigna” (1 Corinzi 13:4° Diodati).

“L'amore è paziente, è benevolo” (1 Corinzi 13:4° NR).

APPLICAZIONE PRATICA

Sai davvero che Gesù ti ama? Come fai a saperlo? Ci credi?

Tra tutte le persone, chi pensi ti ami di più? Come fai a saperlo?

E tu? È facile o difficile per te mostrare amore ai tuoi genitori, ai tuoi fratelli, ai tuoi nonni e ai tuoi amici? Come mai?

[Dopo la discussione:] Dalla Bibbia sappiamo che Gesù ti ama così tanto che ha dato la sua vita per te sulla croce e ti ha reso un figlio di Dio se lo accetti. Hai accettato il suo amore per te e lo hai invitato nella tua vita come tuo Signore e Salvatore? Se no, ti piacerebbe farlo adesso?

La Parola di Dio dice anche che se non mostri amore agli altri, in realtà non ami Dio. In altre parole, se ami Gesù, dimostrerai amore anche agli altri. Chiedi a Dio di mostrarti i modi in cui puoi amare i tuoi genitori, fratelli, amici e altri con le tue parole e le tue azioni. Se ami qualcuno, non tenerlo per te. Fai sapere a quella persona che la ami proprio come Gesù ti ha amato per primo e ti ha mostrato il suo amore attraverso le sue parole e le sue azioni.

PREGHIAMO
