COS'HAI DETTO?
La storia della torre di Babel

Jason voleva diventare famoso. Voleva diventare il ragazzo più famoso della sua scuola. Il brutto è che usava tutti i mezzi per diventare conosciuto, ANCHE dicendo bugie o calpestando i sentimenti altrui. L'unica cosa che Jason voleva era farsi un nome nella Scuola Elementare Hawthorn. Non gli importava nient'altro.
Il problema era che più Jason mentiva, e più doveva inventare storie per coprire le bugie che diceva. Ogni giorno si metteva sempre più nei guai. Più feriva i sentimenti altrui, e meno piaceva agli altri.
Questa strada verso il successo stava diventando ben presto uno stile di vita molto confusionario. È vero che si stava facendo un nome, ma NON il genere di nome che gli avrebbe conquistato delle amicizie e gli avrebbe dato una buona nomea.
Dopo il gran diluvio che aveva ricoperto tutta la terra Noè, sua moglie, i loro tre figli — Sem, Cam e Iafet — e le loro mogli, uscirono fuori dall'arca.
Non molto tempo dopo, i figli ed i nipoti di Noè iniziarono a popolare tutta la terra.
Dopo il diluvio, Noè visse altri 350 anni. In totale, visse 950 anni, [PAUSA] e poi morì.
Cam il figlio di Noè ebbe quattro figli. Lui chiamò uno dei suoi figli “Cush.” Poi Cush ebbe a sua volta un figlio, che chiamò “Nimrod.”
Nimrod divenne un potente cacciatore. Ovunque si nominava il nome di Nimrod, tutti sapevano che si trattava del famosissimo cacciatore. Le sue abilità di cacciatore lo avevano reso famoso in tutto il mondo. Certamente era stato benedetto da Dio.
Una delle prime città costruite da Nimrod fu chiamata “Babele.” A quei tempi, tutto il mondo parlava una sola lingua. Non esistevano il francese, lo spagnolo, il russo, l’italiano, il cinese e tutte le altre lingue che sentiamo oggi.
Mentre le famiglie continuavano a crescere, il popolo doveva spostarsi per farsi spazio. Ogni giorno continuavano a spostarsi verso la direzione del sole. E si spostavano sempre più verso est.
Un giorno, il popolo giunse ad un posto bellissimo, grande e pianeggiante, in cui non c’erano montagne. Essi pensarono: “Questo sì che è un bellissimo posto per vivere.”
Ben presto, sempre più persone scoprirono questo posto meraviglioso e decisero di costruirvi la loro casa, di sistemarvisi e di vivere nel paese di Scinar. Più si diffondeva la notizia di questo nuovo posto, e più le persone venivano ad abitarvi.
Non molto tempo dopo, quel posto BRULICAVA di persone. Si poteva udire la gente gridare avanti e dietro nel mercato. I bambini cantavano e danzavano per le strade.
Le pecore belavano,
le mucche muggivano,
e i cavalli nitrivano.
Le persone che vivevano insieme si riunirono ed iniziarono a fare grandi progetti per il futuro. Decisero di far diventare quel posto una ENORME città ed immaginarono di usare i mattoni per costruire una torre che sarebbe giunta fino al cielo.
Volevano costruire una torre COSI' ALTA che avrebbe reso FAMOSA la loro città. Questa torre sarebbe stata COSI' ALTA che la gente l'avrebbe vista persino da lontano. Questo edificio altissimo li avrebbe resi FAMOSI ed avrebbe diffuso il loro nome IN TUTTO IL MONDO.
Volevano qualcosa di COSI' FAMOSO da attirare persone da tutto il mondo. Credevano che più la gente si fosse riunita nella loro città, più avrebbero potuto fare qualcosa di grande insieme.
Con tante altre PERSONE, avrebbero potuto costruire una città ANCORA PIU' GRANDE e si sarebbero potuti fare un nome ANCORA PIU' GRANDE. Avevano paura che se non fossero andati avanti con quel progetto, la gente si sarebbe dispersa per tutta la terra.
Questa torre altissima, che giungeva fino al cielo, sarebbe stata PROPRIO quello di cui avevano bisogno per riunire tutti. Insieme in un solo posto, non ci sarebbero stati LIMITI.
Ebbene, QUALCUN altro stava guardando questa grande città. Sai chi era?
ERA DIO!
La Bibbia dice che Dio scese giù per vedere la torre e la città che queste persone stavano costruendo. Vide un popolo così preso dalla SUA forza e dal SUO nome, da aver dimenticato di parlare delle storie della potenza di DIO e che non aveva più diffuso il SUO nome sulla terra.
Era un popolo INTERESSATO SOLO A SE STESSO. Erano tutti così impegnati a costruirsi un nome per se stessi, che non avevano più tempo per Dio.
Dio vide ESATTAMENTE quello che stava accadendo, e disse: “Guarda un po’! Il popolo si è riunito in solo posto e parlano tutti la stessa lingua. Guarda quello che stanno facendo!
“Quando sapranno di poter finire questa torre tutti insieme, penseranno che non C'È LIMITE a quello che potranno fare insieme.”
Perciò Dio decise di scendere giù e di CONFONDERE IL LORO LINGUAGGIO, e FECE ESATTAMENTE COSI'!
Il minuto prima erano tutti insieme a parlare e riuscivano a capirsi perfettamente, e il minuto dopo non CAPIVANO NEANCHE UNA PAROLA di quello che dicevano i loro compagni. Tutti erano COMPLETAMENTE CONFUSI! Non capivano più neanche una parola di quello che diceva il compagno. Dicevano tutti delle frasi insignificanti. Sembravano un mucchio di BALBUZIENTI.
Poiché non riuscivano più a capirsi l'un l'altro, non poterono più vivere né lavorare insieme.
E tutto ad un tratto, l'opera della torre EBBE FINE. Ognuno impacchettò le sue cose ed iniziò a trasferirsi in un'altra città. Volevano andar il più lontano possibile da quella confusione. Iniziarono a disperdersi su tutta la faccia della terra.
Ben presto la città divenne nota come “Babele,” poiché tutti avevano sentito dire che qui Dio aveva confuso le lingue.

Dio vuole che diamo TUTTA la gloria al SUO Nome.

“…esaltiamo insieme il suo nom” (Salmo 34:3b).

è il nome più IMPORTANTE per me.
