Sette immersioni in acqua melmosa (Parte 1)

Priscilla si stava sentendo così male da pensare che mai avrebbe potuto sentirsi peggio. Questo FINCHÉ lei decise di guardarsi allo specchio. Lì, su tutto il viso, c'erano grandi macchie rosse. Misericordia! Aveva trovato alcune macchie perfino sulla sua LINGUA!
Questo era già il terzo giorno che lei non andava a scuola per rimanere a casa perché aveva la varicella. Ragazzi, quanto LEI avrebbe desiderato che quelle macchie scomparissero solo in qualche breve giorno!
Ma cosa dire di quelle persone che avevano macchie che non sarebbero MAI andate via? Macchie che avrebbero potuto farli sentire male ed eventualmente farli MORIRE?
Naaman era a uomo molto importante e altamente rispettato. Di fatto lui serviva il Re della Siria come comandante di tutte le sue armate. Grazie alle numerose battaglie che lui e le sue truppe avevano vinte, lui era molto amato e ammirato dal Re come grande eroe della sua nazione e come uomo di immenso coraggio. Ma un giorno Naaman scoprì una cosa molto triste —
LUI ERA LEBBROSO E SAREBBE MORTO!
Ai tempi di Naaman vi erano numerosi lebbrosi. La loro pelle veniva letteralmente consumata, pezzo per pezzo, dalla terribile malattia della lebbra.
L'armata siriana di Naaman era andata in guerra contro gli Israeliti. Molte persone appartenenti al popolo di Dio erano state uccise, ma alcune erano state prese prigioniere e riportate in Siria per diventare dei servi. Tra questi prigionieri vi era una giovane ragazza che era stata data alla moglie di Naaman per servirle in qualità di domestica.
La notizia riguardante la lebbra di Naaman si era diffusa velocemente per tutta la sua casa. Un giorno la piccola ragazza serva sentì i servi sussurrare l'uno all'altro: “Che pena! E' talmente triste sapere che Naaman sia stato colpito da una così terribile infermità. Se solo potessimo fare qualcosa per aiutarlo!”
Ricordando il profeta Eliseo e i meravigliosi miracoli fatti da lui, nel paese nativo da cui lei proveniva, la giovane ragazza disse a se stessa: “Se solo riuscissi a convincere il mio padrone a visitare il profeta Eliseo. Io so che Dio lo GUARIREBBE da questa terribile lebbra!”
Un giorno, mentre la ragazzina stava aspettando la sua padrona, non riuscì più a mantenere dentro i suoi pensieri. Prima di rendersi conti di cosa stava per succedere, le scappò di bocca: “Vorrei che il mio signore andasse a trovare il profeta in Samaria. Lui guarirebbe Naaman dalla lebbra!”
La moglie di Naaman per poco non fece cadere il cibo che stava mettendo in bocca. Immediatamente smise di mangiare e chiese alla giovane ragazza di sedersi vicino a lei.
“Adesso dimmi tutto, CHI è questo profeta” chiese la padrona. “Io voglio sentire tutto ciò che sai di lui.”
La ragazzina tutta eccitata le raccontò delle numerose storie riguardanti i meravigliosi miracoli che il profeta Eliseo aveva fatto. Presto le parole della giovane serva raggiunsero Naaman e Naaman andò a ripeter al Re ciò che la ragazzina aveva detto.
“Vai a visitare questo profeta" gli disse il Re. “Io ti darò una lettera ufficiale da presentare al Re d'Israele, che spieghi lo scopo della tua visita.”
Così Naaman partì per il suo viaggio, insieme ai suoi servi. Prese con se molti regali di argento e ancora più regali d'oro oltre a regali quali dieci cambi di vestiario.
Presto Naaman con i suoi servi raggiunsero il palazzo del re d'Israele e Naaman, comandante della Siria, fu celermente condotto davanti al Re. Il Re prese la lettera che Naaman gli porgeva e iniziò a leggerla ad alta voce: “L'uomo che ti porterà questa lettera è il mio servo Naaman.
“Io voglio che tu LO GUARISCA DALLA SUA LEBBRA.”
Quando il Re d'Israele finì di leggere la lettera, dalla rabbia si strappò i vestiti e disse ai suoi servi: "Questo uomo mi manda un lebbroso da guarire!
“Sono IO DIO, da poter togliere o dare la vita?
“Io so a cosa mira REALMENTE il Re di Siria. Lui vuole solo una guerra.”
Non molto dopo, Eliseo il profeta sentì cosa era successo a palazzo e mandò un messaggio al re: "Cosa è successo? Perché ti sei strappato i vestiti? Manda quest'uomo da ME e io farò in modo che egli impari che vi è un vero profeta di Dio qui in Israele.”
Così Naaman risalì sul suo carro in viaggio verso la casa di Eliseo. Presto si trovò davanti alla porta d'ingresso della casa di Eliseo.
Con sua meraviglia, Eliseo neanche si presentò alla porta ma, al suo posto, mandò un messaggero fuori per incontrarlo.
“Vai e lavati nel fiume Giordano per sette volte” disse il servo di Eliseo “e la tua pelle tornerà pura e sarai guarito dalla tua lebbra.”
Naaman si arrabbiò veramente e DI CORSA lasciò quella casa!
PENSA!
1. Cosa aveva detto la piccola serva alla sua padrona?
2. Cosa sarebbe successo se lei lo avesse tenuto per se?
3. Cosa accadde quando il re d'Israele ricevette la lettera dal re di Siria?
4. Cosa disse il profeta Eliseo che Naaman doveva fare per essere guarito dalla sua lebbra?
RICORDA
Quando ti trovi in una situazione in cui hai paura che NON FINIRA' MAI, invece di arrabbiarti e rinunciare a sperare, invoca Dio affinché ti aiuti.
UN VERSETTO DA IMPARARE
“…poiché Io sono l'Eterno che ti guarisco” (Esodo 15:26b).
PREGHIAMO

Caro Iddio, quando mi trovo in una situazione che sembra senza speranza
quasi non dovesse cambiare mai, invece di arrabbiarmi
o perdere la speranza, aiutami ad invocare Te per ricevere aiuto.
