Nel vedere sul tavolo le pile di piccoli quadretti di stoffa accuratamente ritagliati, Carlo s’incuriosì. “Zia Maria, cosa farai con tutti questi pezzetti di stoffa? Non sembrano grossi abbastanza per servire a qualcosa.”
Zia Maria ridacchiò all’osservazione del nipote. “Devo cucirli assieme per farne una trapunta. Dopodiché porterò la trapunta alla missione per darla a qualcuno che ne ha bisogno,” replicò.
“Accipicchia, quanto lavoro! E perché vuoi fare tutto quel lavoro solo per poi regalarla?”
Con un sorriso, zia Maria guardò Carlo e disse “Mi piace fare le trapunte, ma ho già tutte le trapunte di cui ho bisogno. La Bibbia dice che noi dovremmo fare cose buone per altre persone. Oltre a ciò, mi rende felice il vedere la gioia che porto quando regalo la trapunta a qualche bisognoso.”
“Pie-tro! … Pie-tro! … Vieni presto, per favore! Abbiamo bisogno che tu venga subito a Ioppe. Per favore, fai IN FRETTA!”
Pietro si voltò per vedere a cosa era dovuta tutta quell’agitazione. “Calmati, ragazzo. Cosa c’è? Cosa posso fare per te? Cos’è successo per essere così trafelato?”
“Sì, sì. Mi ricordo di Gazzella, ma dimmi, cosa c'è di così terribile? Perché sei venuto?”
“Pietro, mi hanno mandato a prenderti. Gazzella stava male. Poi è peggiorata e nessuno sapeva cosa fare. I medici non potevano aiutarla. Alla fine è morta. Stanno già preparando il funerale. La gente mi ha detto di venire a prenderti perché tutti pensano che tu avresti saputo cosa fare.”
Mentre si recavano a Ioppe, Pietro e il giovane parlarono a lungo di tutti i nuovi vestiti che Gazzella aveva fatto e di tutte le altre sue opere buone. Entrambi erano molto tristi per la morte della loro amica.
Le gente aspettava ansiosamente l'arrivo di Pietro. Alcuni gli andarono incontro e camminarono con lui fino alla casa. Pietro salì al piano superiore, dove erano stati fatti i preparativi per il funerale. La stanza era piena di gente triste che piangeva. Pietro riuscì a malapena ad entrare.
“Guarda che vestito carino aveva fatto per me!” gridò una giovane donna.
“Avrei patito un gran freddo durante l’inverno se non mi avesse fatto un caldo mantello.”
La gente continuava a parlare, mostrando a Pietro le cose che lei aveva fatto.
Pietro sapeva ESATTAMENTE che cosa doveva fare.
Chiese gentilmente alle persone di lasciare la stanza.
Poi s’inginocchiò accanto al corpo ormai rigido di Gazzella…
“Caro Padre che sei nel cielo, io so che Tu puoi ogni cosa. Sai quanto Gazzella fosse amata da tutti per tutte le sue buone opere. Vuoi riportarla in vita? Ti prego nel nome di Gesù. Amen.”
Quindi, Pietro parlò dolcemente a Gazzella, dicendole, “Tabita, alzati!”
ISTANTANEAMENTE aprì gli occhi! Vide Pietro! Si mise seduta sul letto!
Pietro la prese per mano e l'aiutò ad alzarsi. Disse alle persone di fuori di rientrare nella stanza. Erano tutti SBALORDITI e felici di trovare Gazzella in vita.
Dio aveva risposto alla preghiera di Pietro!
Che MIRACOLO meraviglioso!
Tutti si affollarono intorno a lei per abbracciarla. Erano tutti così felici. Corsero fuori della stanza, uscirono dalla casa e andarono per le strade a dire a TUTTI quelli che incontravano la buona notizia che Gazzella era viva. Grazie a questo grandioso miracolo, molti che non credevano nel Signore Gesù Cristo quel giorno divennero Cristiani.
PENSA!

2. Come aiutava gli altri Gazzella?
3. E tu come puoi aiutare gli altri?
RICORDA
E' molto importante ascoltare la Parola di Dio e obbedirGli.
