Racconto del Pesce di Steven Wilson

Mora sedeva sulla spiaggia lanciando i sassolini in acqua. Era arrabbiata! I suoi genitori le dicevano in continuazione cosa doveva fare e lei non ce la faceva più. Decisa a non ubbidirgli mai più, lanciò l’ultimo sasso in acqua e fece per andarsene.
Appena il suo sassolino s'immerse nel mare, le acque iniziarono ad incresparsi e a schiumare. Onde gigantesche si levarono e si infransero sulla spiaggia.
“Cavolo!” gridò allontanandosi. “Non l’ho gettato così forte!” Ma non era stato il suo sassolino a provocare una reazione così violenta. Era stato il pesce di venti metri che in quel momento era atterrato di fronte a lei.
Mora si sentì gelare il sangue nelle vene. A lei in genere i pesci non piacevano, e tanto meno uno così enorme che continuava ad occhieggiarla. Stava pensando sul da farsi, quando improvvisamente il pesce gigante iniziò a dare segni di nausea. Stava quasi per vomitare e Mora si trovava proprio sulla sua traiettoria. Saltò dietro un cespuglio lì vicino proprio in tempo, mentre il pesce diede l’ultimo spasimo e vomitò per tutta la spiaggia.
Che macello! C'erano alghe e legni, e lische e...e...e.... Mora si strofinò gli occhi. Non riusciva a credere ai suoi occhi. Lì, fra quelle schifezze c’era...un uomo! Ed era vivo.
L'uomo si alzò in piedi ed il pesce gigante si trascinò di nuovo in mare.
L’uomo era bassino, con una barbetta che sembrava più un cespuglio di alghe che un insieme di peli. La sua pelle era raggrinzita come quella di una prugna secca e puzzava terribilmente. “Che schifo!” pensò Mora, tappandosi il naso ed nascondendosi meglio dietro al cespuglio. “Ma come ha fatto a finire dentro al pesce?"
Lo guardò togliersi una scheggia di legno da sotto ai piedi, poi si pulì il muco dagli occhi e dalle orecchie e si mise a camminare sulla spiaggia, scomparendo da lì a poco dalla sua vista.
Tirò un sospiro di sollievo e saltò fuori dal cespuglio, preparandosi a ritornare a casa.
Nonostante i suoi pensieri vagassero ancora sui strani eventi accaduti sulla spiaggia, era ancora determinata a dire ai suoi genitori che aveva deciso di non ubbidire più alle loro richieste.
“L’ho appena visto!” sentì dire al padre, entrando in casa. “Era lo stesso uomo che ci ha chiesto di buttarlo a mare perché aveva fatto arrabbiare il suo Dio. Ci ha detto che così facendo avremmo calmato la tempesta. E così eà stato!”
“Uao!” disse la mamma di Mora mentre Mora entrava in casa. “Il suo Dio deve essere molto potente, se ha potuto fermare una tempesta come quella. Ma perché non eà annegato?”
“Beh,” continuò il padre di Mora, “pare che sia stato nella pancia di un pesce per tre giorni e tre notti. Ora non so se eà stato il suo Dio a fare una cosa del genere.”
A Mora si congelò di nuovo il sangue, sentendo menzionare il grosso pesce. Ecco perché quello strano uomo era finito nella pancia del pesce! Aveva fatto arrabbiare il suo Dio.
“Cos’ha fatto per fare arrabbiare il suo Dio?” chiese Mora, sorprendendo un po’ i suoi genitori che non l’avevano sentita rientrare.
“Beh,” disse il padre, chinandosi per abbracciare sua figlia, “Pare che si sia rifiutato di fare quello che Dio gli aveva chiesto di fare!”
“Veramente!” sussurrò Mora ricordandosi l’immagine di quell’uomo appiccicoso che aveva trascorso tre giorni dentro la pancia di un pesce. “Oh mamma!” e senza pensarci sopra, Mora si voltò verso sua madre e disse, “C'eà qualcosa che vorresti che io facessi? Devi solo chiedermelo, sai. Sarò dispostissima a farla.“
E con ciò, Mora afferrò una scopa ed iniziò a pulire freneticamente la casa.

2. Perché eà importante aiutare gli altri?
3. Cosa potresti fare per aiutare Dio?

verità che non perderà affatto il suo premio”
